US President Joe Biden ‘doing great’ after testing positive for Covid

US President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19. He is currently being isolating at White House.

Karine Jean-Pierre, press secretary, stated that the 79-year old is currently fully-vaccinated, and has received two booster jabs. He is still able to perform his duties.

Her statement also stated that the president is currently taking Paxlovid (an antiviral medication).

Biden tweeted that he was doing great and keeping busy.

Jill Biden, his wife and First Lady, said that she had failed a test.

In accordance with White House protocol, the president will continue working in isolation until he tests positive. Ms Jean Pierre said that he will also participate in Zoom and telephone meetings.

Dr Ashish Jha, White House Covid coordinator, said that the president was tired with a runny nose. He also had dry cough.

He stated that Mr Biden went to sleep feeling fine, but then he didn’t fall asleep well. On Thursday morning, he was tested positive.

Folks, I’m doing great. Thank you for your concern. I have just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright and Mayor Cognetti (and my Scranton relatives!) I am sorry that we missed today’s event.
