Authorities said six people died in a dust storm that was fueled by winds of up to 60 mph. The incident occurred on Friday night along Interstate 90 in Montana.

Twenty-one vehicles were involved in a crash, and Montana Highway Patrol Sergeant. Jay Nelson stated that authorities believe that the weather caused the crash.

He said, “It seems as though there were heavy winds, causing dust storms with zero visibility.”

Nelson stated that additional ambulances needed to be dispatched from Billings because the highway patrol didn’t have an immediate count on the injuries.

Gov. Greg Gianforte stated on Twitter that he was deeply affected by the news about a mass casualty accident near Hardin. Join me in praying for the victims and their families. “We are grateful for the service of our first responders.”
