Mega Millions jackpot is now over $1 billion.
Des Moines, Iowa — A huge Mega Millions lottery jackpot ballooned to $1.02 billion when no one had matched all six numbers Tuesday night and claimed the biggest prize.
The jackpot that is estimated to be the fourth largest will be the fourth largest jackpot prize in the lottery.
The prize has grown to be in size because no one has won the six chosen numbers from April 15. It’s 29 consecutive drawing without a major winner.
The numbers for Tuesday were 07-29-60-63-66 Mega Ball 15.
This $1.02 billion prize is available to winners who opt for the annuity option. The prize is which is paid out every year over a period of 30 years. The majority of winners choose an option to cash out, and the Friday night drawing next week is estimated at $602.5 million.
The chances of hitting the jackpot are one out of 302.5 million.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game is governed by the state lotteries.
