The UFC 280 pay-per-view event takes place on October. 22 in the Etihad Arena. The UFC announced the lightweight event on Saturday.

Oliveira from Brazil He won the title in 2021 after a knockout in 2021 over Michael Chandler. He was able to defend his belt in a fight against Dustin Poirier in December, but lost it in May because the Brazilian was unable to put on weight for the scheduled match to Justin Gaethje.

Oliveira then went on to defeat Gaethje in the opening round of UFC 274 in the first round. The result was officially ruled to be a non-title fight for Oliveira. Oliveira has won eleven consecutive fights which includes 10 wins.

Makhachev (22-1) can be considered to be the greatest challenge to Oliveira’s power. An old teammate of UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Makhachev has won 10 times during the UFC. He has defeated his previous four opponents, which included back-to-back wins in the first round.
